Why so many rules in the written language? my spellcheck always colour my papers red and green.

I volunteered to write an article for my school magazine about my life as an exchangestudent in Korea. I was told that the size was open, and that creative solutions where welcome. So, of course I wanted to do that! I like creative writing and I also saw it as a good opportunity to promote some good Korean punk music. Cause, thats what the article was about - Under Ground In Korea. I spend x hours writing and editing some cool pictures for them. I started to become a little bit worried when I didn´t here anything from them after I sent them a bunch of material. I am a control freak when it comes down to these kind of businesses. I need it to perfectly reflect me and who I am and what I stand for. So, boy was I angry when I saw the final result! They totally changed it! They used words and expressions that I would never even think of use! I estimate the feeling and main point with the article to be changed about 80%. And my name, and my picture is under something that I can not stand for at all. I have been very angry, sad and disappointed. But, what makes me even more angry, is the reason why they changed it. They say they had to edit it because the language wasn´t "the kind of language you learn in school of journalism", and because, "some parts didnt make any sense", and "the first thing you learn when you study journalism is.." and so on. That is, something completely different from what they first said about creativity.
I am not a journalist and I never said I wanted to be. I write the way I write because that is how I wish to express my thoughts, that is what I want to have my name and photo under. How can someone take the freedom to change all that, into what HE thinks is ok, and publish it without even asking me, or even telling me that some changes where made, and then put my name under it?!

Why do we need to control the written word in some areas? Why so many rules? Even in the world of academic writing, one could ask if a more informal language that engage and inspire wouldnt be to prefer instead of one that makes people dont read or fall asleep.
My friend Kerba found this video, and thought about my issues.

And oh, how the story ends? The magazine is unfortunately allready published with my article in it. But the head editor acknowledged my criticism and gave me right. In the next issue there will be an apology and correction that my article was edited.

Sometimes when i look at my macbook, images of my dads old 10 kg "yuppienalle" he had in our car in the 80s comes to my mind.

I always complain about my computer being way to heavy for being in year 2010! Actually I always wonder why it seems like nothing has happened with the development of computers last years. It doesnt take much to think of my MacBook as slightly outdated. Yes, Ipad came, but I dont even now what I need that for. I am waiting for the next revolutionary innovation! Hit me! Ofcourse, one can argue we now have Iphones and Blackberrys, but that still is not quite a computer.
So, was I happy to be presented the FUTURE! His name is Pranav Mistry, his invention is called "Sixth Sense". And thats not it, Mistry says he wants to open source the software to open its possibilities for everyone.

There will be a festival, ZABCULTURAL FESTIVAL, in Hongdae at Theater Zero on the 26, 27 and 28th of November. Punks, DJs, Bellydancers and a tattooconvention will take place. I am trying to support and help as much as I can as Jong Hee is planning and organizing. This night (yes 10pm-4am), we had a photoshoot with everyone performing at the festival. Havnt seen the pictures yet, but sure they good. I link you up sooner or later. So, Jong Hee awesome for doing this, and RUX  his band (vocalist) pretty good to. They one of the earliest punkbands in Korea. (In fact, Jong Hee is often being referred to as dad or godfather of koran punk)

Wangsimni Casanova Yoon, I think you dropped something on the floor!

Hi. Im Wangsimni Casanova Yoon, who will lead you to confess your romantic love. If you understand how to make yourself up and how to get friendly with many girls, you need to know how to make her your fiance. How long will be just friends? Hey, from now on, I´ll give you a knowhow to make your friend to be your fiance. At first. Its very important to select an atmospheric site which you´ll confess your love. According to psychology, women are becoming excited when they are near the water or they are in high place. So the possibilty to sucess your confession will be higher. Therefore, it had best select a sightly spot which is in high place and has a view of the river. Next, the gift which you will give her is also needed. There is no women who dont like surprise gift. So, move her heart by giving bouqet by roses and surprise gift, before confessing your love. The more your gift cost expensive, the more your love is coming true. Finally, your confessing comment is most important part in this process. But there is no fixed comment in love confession. If you just speak your love with total sincerity and if she feels the truth of your heart then that comment will be your best love confession. Confess your heart to her with your total sincerity. I will coach you.

K-POP from ´99! H.O.T- We are the future!

RAIN

I moved to Korea because I fell in love with RAIN- korean singer and actor.
But once in Korea, I realised that everyone here is in love with him. For days I tried to contact him, I waited outside his house, day and night. I waited outside his studio, day and night, together with hundreds of other girls that claimed to love him as much, or even more, then I did. One day, when he as usual passed by me without noticing me, I had to give up. RAIN was not meant for me, and I was not meant for RAIN.

Besides, RAINs latest video disappointed me very much. Why cant K-pop be like it was in the 90s??
H.O.T get back together!!!!
